Dropping Loads Productions: Them Boys Insurance
Pouch here. We've got a new sketch for you this week. This one came about based on a conversation that most of the boys were having at a New Year's Eve party, me excluded. We finally took the time to commit it to paper and film very recently. We also unintentionally channeled Tiger Balm in this one in that we were cutting in between random scenes in an attempt to sell a product. Tiger Balm worked out well and required little to no post-production, so we decided to give that approach another go. It's pretty much the Tiger Balm sketch, but with way better production values and less offensively Asian.

Dropping Loads Year-in-Review
Hey, guys. It's Pouch. The last few months here at Dropping Loads have been kind of hectic. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties as well as the holidays coming up around this time, we haven't been on any regular schedule. But that hasn't stopped us from trying to continue releasing as much entertainment as possible.
With this being the last week of 2012, we figured it was worth trying to get something out before the year ended. So we decided on a pod that reflected on this past year and how much we managed to accomplish. I can't speak for everyone at Dropping Loads, but I know that this was a big year for me. For the most part, I've never been the type of a person that reflected upon the year with swelling pride and/or regret as I never actually did anything worthwhile. It was just a matter of ending another year and life continuing on with no need to celebrate any momentous occasions. I'm glad to say that this year warranted such a change to my routine.
It's hard to say what really pushed me to suggest doing a podcast in the first place, but I suppose it was just a need to finally start on a project that I could put my creative energies into. I was slowly getting disillusioned with writing movie news, because it really felt like nobody gave a shit what I had to say. Though, it's difficult to gauge whether or not anybody gives a shit what we have to say on the pod or the videos, but overall the experience of just creating all of this content has been the reward in itself. It's brought me closer to a group of friends that I initially felt sharply divided from. So now I can actually say - with more certainty than I could in the past - that I feel a certain sense of belongingness. And all of it can be tracked through our blog and YouTube channel. It's wonderful that we have something we can show for it and it's even more wonderful that that there are people that actually care, though many of you guys don't make it known very often.
It's been a great year creating things for you guys and hopefully it'll be an even better year in 2013. Thanks for sticking by us.

Pouch and Milky give special thanks to everyone involved and welcome the many opportunities in 2013.

Dropping Loads Episode 24: Coolest Person on Facebook

As usual, Pouch here. I'm not particularly happy with the way this episode turned out. We recorded this in the backyard of Milky Way Studios because Mrs. Milky wasn't feeling very well. There are some sounds in the background, but overall we were lucky enough to be recording on an uneventful night. Audio issues include Steve unconsciously rocking in his seat, thereby moving his mic stand... which it will become apparent within the first few minutes. Apologies for that. I'm most upset with the fact that I sound like such an ignorant idiot, but that's neither here nor there because it was still a pretty entertaining episode.

Dropping Loads Productions: DVD Load-Down #9 - The Cabin in the Woods
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end... which means DROPTOBER must as well. This month has been difficult as we were constantly shooting something to ensure we hit each week's deadline, but it was a still hell of a lot of fun, though Milky would probably disagree as he was editing practically everyday. Dropping Loads Productions: Chicken Intervention
Hey, guys. It's Pouch. I'm here today with a brand new sketch! Overall, our approach to anything we've done here thus far is to try to have as much fun as a possible. And we do. Every sketch has been insanely fun. But this newest one is probably been the most fun we've had yet. We were just surrounded with tons of friends really fueling our adrenaline and electrifying the atmosphere. Thankfully, a lot of that was documented courtesy of Chuck, Angie, and Nic, who managed to shoot some pretty cool behind the scenes stuff. Dropping Loads Productions: Dr. Dad
Pouch here. Yeah, it's a bit late, but shit happens. This was a difficult one to get done. We were all set for a fun skit that was supposed to be a callback to one of our other sketches, but we had a bit of a crisis and had to scramble to get production started on another one we had in the bank. Like I said millions of times prior, we're running an insanely amateur operation here and you will see how amateurish it is. Of course, that doesn't mean we didn't have fun. As you can see in the bloopers, we always fun.

Dropping Loads Productions: Commercial
Pouch here. In keeping with the new Dropping Loads Production schedule, this week is a brand new video for you to laugh your ass off. This week (and it's seriously been a long time coming) is the Official Dropping Loads commercial. Remember when I kept promising cool shit in conjunction with our special Episode 10? Well, this was what we were planning, but it just took some time to get around to shooting the damn thing because of conflicting schedules and unpredictable weather. I really hope you enjoy this one, because we had a shit-ton of fun filming it (as you can tell from the blooper reel that ended up being longer than the actual commercial). Dropping Loads Productions: Butter Dance 2
Pouch here. Sooo, for practical reasons, we decided some time ago to start posting podcast eps every other week and instead push toward entertaining in a visual medium! Yes, we've officially started Dropping Loads Productions and have been filming various skits here and there, but for the Dropping Load Productions launch, we decided on Dave's own interpretation of the Butter Dance. I fucking love it and I hope you do too. Everything just came together so much better than we'd hoped. You guys gotta give the props over to Milky for those mad editing skillz and Dr. Delicious for not having any dignity and falling so many times for the sake of ART!

Dropping Loads Video Podcast
Hey, guys. It's Ponch. I promised you guys an entry giving a more detailed explanation regarding the Video Podcast that might be coming soon... and here it is.
My brother is an avid writer, focusing primarily on Hip Hop news, writing on 24HourHipHop.com and working the associated label, Poe Boy. The thing is that he likes to have his hands in all sorts of different flavored pies and always ends up dragging me along some way somehow. (Most of them usually end up in failure.)
Anyway, my cousin was cooking up a media website called InfamousPlay.com with some of his close friends and he brought my brother along because of his knowledge of Hip Hop and the fact that he's a writer. At that point, I was writing headline news over at a movie website called InfamousKidd.com (under Pumpkin Escobar), and therefore I was asked to come in as another writer, but for movies.
InfamousKidd.com went down, with the owner moving over to AICN, therefore leaving me to start a new project... Dropping Loads, of course. That freed me up for my cousin to draft me as an occasional writer (under the pseudonym ScrewdriveR). With that in place, InfamousPlay.com wasn't intended to be just news, the intention there was to provide original media, meaning episodic talk shows focusing on various media ranging from music, movies, games, wrestling, etc. (Look up the banner on the website yourself).
With the site opening up shop a few weeks following the release of Episode 0, they started garnering a fair amount of visitors daily. With the site open, they figured they should get those shows up and running as quick as possible. Cue my brother's bright idea to film the Dropping Loads recording sessions as another potential show. I didn't mind the idea, because as long as we garnered more listeners to the pod, who am I to decline? Of course, I had to get the approval of the Dropping Loads boys prior to going through with it. For the most part, everyone didn't really have a problem with it because the more exposure, the better.
There were talks here and there regarding the video podcast for a long time, but it never happened until about two weeks ago, at the recording of Episode 5, where it was a fucking disaster because our camera man (who you hear on the pod) didn't know what the fuck he wanted. Most of the footage should be getting scrapped in favor of a 1-2 minute trailer and we'll be reshooting, hopefully by the next time the boys get back together to record.
Anyway, that's all the background information on that. As for the details of the show, we pretty much won't have any say what makes it in to the video podcast because we don't know how to edit video that well (Hell, we barely can edit the audio) and plus, it's not technically our project. What I do know is that each recording session should be recorded in its entirety, which runs about an hour and half to two hours, but the footage will be edited down to 10-15 minutes of the best parts of the recording sessions. And no, it won't be one stationary camera focusing on people just talking. Right now, the idea is that we should be using 2 cameras capturing different angles. With that in mind, we will be acknowledging the camera and playing to an audience that can actually see us.
Hopefully, that answers all the burning questions that I'm sure you've had since getting your mind sufficiently blown by our announcement on the pod. The thing is that he likes to have his hands in all sorts of different flavored pies and always ends up dragging me along some way somehow. (Most of them usually end up in failure.)
Anyway, my cousin was cooking up a media website called InfamousPlay.com with some of his close friends and he brought my brother along because of his knowledge of Hip Hop and the fact that he's a writer. At that point, I was writing headline news over at a movie website called InfamousKidd.com (under Pumpkin Escobar), and therefore I was asked to come in as another writer, but for movies.
InfamousKidd.com went down, with the owner moving over to AICN, therefore leaving me to start a new project... Dropping Loads, of course. That freed me up for my cousin to draft me as an occasional writer (under the pseudonym ScrewdriveR). With that in place, InfamousPlay.com wasn't intended to be just news, the intention there was to provide original media, meaning episodic talk shows focusing on various media ranging from music, movies, games, wrestling, etc. (Look up the banner on the website yourself).
