Dropping Loads Episode 50: Satan Claws - 50th Episode Spectacular

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE.

Pouch here. Who woulda thought this dopey little podcast would ever make it to episode 50? You'd think that after 5 episodes, we'd be at each other's throats, but nope, we hung in there. Now we're celebrating a landmark episode. 50 episodes, brah! It feels good. This episode requires some explanation. We obviously wanted to do something different to commemorate this special, so we decided to do a round robin episode, featuring three different semi-permanents (i.e. regulars), dedicating about 10-15 minutes a piece to them and switching off. It'd all be book ended by Milky and me. Though we had some audio issues, it came out pretty good and I'm happy to release it.

In this episode, DLP celebrates the 50th episode by pulling a round robin episode, featuring three different semi-permanents switching off after each of their own special segments. Jon is fascinated by WWE's brilliant marketing scheme to incorporate brawling Santas, Maria tells a tale of a food-worshipping family, while Random Guy Serge sits in on the DLP Parenting Corner.

Dropping Loads Episode 49: Rich Son of God

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE.

Your loyal Pouch here. It hasn't been the most joyous week for us here at Milky Way Studios. After we recorded this fantastic episode, we received some particularly sad news. That should not detract you from this great episode here. It's the triumphant return of author Lance Manion. The very last time we had him on was on Episode 31, when he was promoting National Have Sex with an Ugly Person Day. We've been meaning to have him back on after we had such a great time, but I dropped the ball on that one and didn't bring him in when Homo Sayswhaticus was released. Rest assured, it'd likely won't happen again. Make sure you check out Lance at his website and don't forget to pick up his new book, The Trembling Fist, out now on paperback and e-book. Intro/outro: Thomas Rhett - Beer with Jesus

In this episode, author Lance Manion returns to pimp his new book, "The Trembling Fist." The boys discuss the savior in all His glory, while slowly conceptualizing a new sitcom about the messiah's misadventures. Pouch is afraid of offending this culture obsessed with political correctness, while Milky simply doesn't care. Check out http://www.lancemanion.com

Dropping Loads Episode 48: Eww featuring Jeremiah of Bombad Radio

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE. Your ardent Pouch here. While the dust is still settling on the new studio, we're going to be podcast exclusive for the time being. Does it matter? We've got an extra special guest in the house today. His name is Jeremiah from Bombad Radio, another fine podcast from the 76th Street Network. As a veteran podcaster of a very popular podcast, he knows what he's talking about and knows the ins and outs of garnering a massive audience and grabbing some of the biggest names in the geek world. Check out Bombad Radio, folks. If you're a geek, you will not be disappointed. Intro/outro: Michael Jackson - Will You Be There?

In this episode, Jeremiah of Bombad Radio joins the DLP boys to school them in all things podcasting and show his distaste of many things. Pouch is determined to make their special guest laugh, while Milky mandates the use of toenail clippers.

Dropping Loads Episode 47: You're Commending a Serial Killer!

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE.

Your faithful Pouch here. As you can see, we were on an unofficial hiatus. Sorry about that, folks. I've said it before and I'll say it again, lives get in the way. As we slightly acknowledged in this episode, Milky Way Studios just moved to a different location, where settling in has been top priority. While the dust settles, we've been brainstorming various new sketches and I've already got a tentative schedule for a bunch of new guests for the podcast, so hopefully we'll end this year with a big bang. Intro/outro: Motorhead - The Game. Thunder clap sound effects: Pablo Perez.

In this episode, the DLP boys discuss the new studio and the paranormal residents living within it. Milky promotes logic. while Paco denies it. Pouch goes mad and brings another spooky edition of Get a Load of This. The boys discuss the death of Brian Griffin and the future of Marvel's movie universe.

Dropping Loads Episode 46: Humans Can Lick Too - Halloween Special

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE

Your devoted Pouch here. As teased in the previous episode, I present to you our very first Halloween podcast. In the past, we've celebrated Halloween via DVD Load-Down, with this year's Halloween Special released in two different parts. (You can view them below.)

But after Maria told that unnerving tale of the Clown Statue, we figured that she had some more creepy urban legends up her sleeve, which would make for a great Halloween episode. To be honest, though we teased it, it was never fully finalized until maybe 4 days prior. At first, I believed that the DVD Load-Down Halloween would suffice, but a few days prior to recording the episode, I just proposed the idea to Milky and Paco and we were off and heavily prepping  in hopes of making your hair stand on end. Intro/Outro: Santeria - Sublime. Thunder clap sound effects: Pablo Perez

In this episode, the DLP boys take you down a trip into the morbid and the macabre, in celebration of Halloween. Paco and Milky observe their neighbor's foreign customs. Pouch brings us a spooky edition of Get a Load of This, while Paco recounts some chilling urban legends.

DVD Load-Down #19 Halloween Special Part Two: The Killer Shrews

Your faithful Pouch here. Today marks the second Halloween since we started DLP and though it's not particularly special to me, it is to everybody else at DLP. All two of them. However, for me, it's a good excuse to do something special for the occasion. Last year, Droptober was Milky's brainchild. This year, most of us were busy with our lives, so we couldn't quite accomplish the insurmountable task of replicating Droptober in its entirety, so we opted for a two-part Halloween special. This time, it was conceived almost entirely by Maria, aka Paco, utilizing a bunch of inside jokes that only our viewers would know... Is it really plural? Let's be safe and say that it utilizes a bunch of inside jokes that our only viewer would know. Hey, guy. Thanks for sticking by us.

As always, support our good friend El Movie Master.

Now, enough chatter, here's Part Two of our Halloween Special:

DVD Load-Down #18 Halloween Special Part Two: Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects

Pouch here. It's been a rough weekend for me, but that obviously shouldn't affect your weekend. I wouldn't dare deprive you guys of DLP, especially the weekend before Halloween. We may not be going the same route of Droptober from last year, but we've got something special for you. It's a bit late due to technical difficulties, but now it's up for your enjoyment.

Without further ado, it's the annual DVD Load-Down Halloween Special! This week, it's Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects.

Dropping Loads Episode 45: Bamboo

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE

Your dutiful Pouch here. Back in the saddle and feeling great. This will be the first time I've edited the pod in weeks and I'm enjoying my return, though many of you may not once your hear how rusty my editing skillz have becomes since I took my hiatus. For some strange reason, it seems that all the topics discussed had been long gestating and by the time we sat down to recording, we were ready to burst. Then again, we hadn't recorded in nearly a month, which should contribute to it. It's a fun episode, give it a listen. Oh, I meant Joe Carnahan, when I was referring to the guy who directed The Grey. Intro/outro: Anarbor - Mr. Big Shot

In this episode, Milky and Pouch tell the tale of a most memorable figure known as Bamboo. Maria transitions into Paco to better reflect her internal identity. Milky exposes a dumpster prostitution scandal. Pouch seduces a stripper in Grand Theft Auto 5.

Dropping Loads Productions: Cake Boy Strikes Again Episode 2 - The Anniversary

Your dutiful Pouch here. I'm coming at you with a brand new Cake Boy sketch. Though I didn't quite receive the reception I was hoping for with the pilot episode, it's likely they'd be an ongoing fixture at DLP as these shorts are quick and dirty, when done right. Which means, we can get these out to you with relative haste. This one, for instance, was written in a day and shot a week later, in just a matter of hours. With a three person cast and crew and 4 scenes to shoot, it was a pretty fun and easy day.

At the same time, it's fun to think about how far we can go with this Cake Boy character. It's even greater to note that I didn't write this one. It's a good feeling to know that this idea that spawned from a joke that I heard and simply wouldn't let go is slowly becoming an entity and I'm not the only one that believes in it. After shooting the first and realizing the extent to which we can take this character and how much fun it'll be in the process, Milky wrote the second one.

Enjoy:

Dropping Loads Episode 44: Banger

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE

Pouch here. As was explained in the unnecessarily long introduction to the episode, the meat of this episode was recorded weeks ago on Labor Day. Unfortunately, Jon and I both started new jobs that really limit the amount of time we can dedicate to the pod. But we had a small window of opportunity on Labor Day, when Jon was available to record and we decided we did not want to miss it. We tried to schedule a recording session with enough time, but unfortunately, as it always does, shit ran late and we only had about 30 minutes to record before I had to whisk myself off to work. Regardless, I feel even with the small amount of time we had, we still managed to capture some magic. Intro/Outro: School of Rock - School of Rock cast.

In this episode, Milky stages an intervention against Pouch's attempt to oppress Milky's Catholic beliefs. Jon squeezes enough time into his schedule to enlighten the boys on what exactly a Banger is. The boys briefly discuss the benefits of pursuing public sexual escapades

Pouch here. I wasn't present for this shoot, so I can't really drop any loads of insight regarding the recording of this one. It was conceived entirely by Milky and our cosplayer friend Dorkie and I think it worked out pretty well. Our first attempt at satire of pop culture and it properly married it with geek culture. Pretty cool, huh?

Dropping Loads Productions: DVD Load-Down #17 - V/H/S

Pouch here. Honestly, if it wasn't for all those weeks of hiatus, we probably wouldn't have all this stuff ahead of time, ready to be released. After this, you may find us struggling to keep a consistent schedule, so I'm just warning you now, so the few of you who actually follow this don't start whining.

This week, I have a DVD Load-Down where we review the found footage anthology horror flick, V/H/S and with it, our own entry into the found footage genre. Although I had a ton of fun on this one, looking back on it, there's an awful lot of bounce going on in my audition tape. Please, ignore it.

Dropping Loads Productions: Cake Boy Strikes Again Episode 1 - The Birthday Party

Pouch here. We're not quite back on a regular schedule yet, but at least I don't have to shamefully avoid this page knowing that we don't have anything to present. Yep, we've actually got something for you. It's not a full sketch that you're accustomed to, no. It's a microseries that's been brewing in a my head for a little bit. After getting some encouragement and realizing that another potential sketch may not see the light of day, I sat down wrote this incredibly short script. Surprisingly, it took some time to get this one together. Extras are not easy to book when there's no promise of money involved. Hell, I'm not even sure if money would make a difference nowadays. But here you go, the start of a fun microseries entitled, Cake Boy Strikes Again.

Pouch here. I don't really have anymore excuses to give for a lack of YouTube updates. We've just had a hard time scheduling folks to come in for this ambitious shoot that we have. Thus far, it's the longest script we've ever written and it has some pretty elaborate set pieces... for us, that is. But at least these pods are here to tide you over in the meantime.

In this episode, Milky celebrates everything that is Matt Damon, while Maria rolls her eyes in jealousy. Maria is impressed with the erectile prowess of a senior citizen. Pouch and Milky continue discussing Batman/Superman/Man of Steel 2 news.

Pouch here! Yeah, yeah, I know we haven't been too consistent as of late, but shit happens and stuff gets postponed. We do have lives, unfortunately, that really prevent us from being able to create content for you motherfuckers. Buuuut we finally sat our asses down and recorded another podcast for you fine folks. As explained to some degree in this episode, it's been quite a hiatus, so much so that we were pretty enthusiastic to record. And you'll hear it... hopefully. The extended length of an hour and 12 minutes should be an indicator of just how much we didn't want to stop.

In this episode, Pouch denounces a local mechanic, while Milky excoriates courthouse flatulence. Maria and Pouch exchange encounters with the homeless.

Dropping Loads Productions: DVD Load-Down #16 - Chuck and Buck

Pouch here. Do I owe you guys an explanation for all the skip weeks and schedule changes? Probably. It's due in large part to me. I have a steady job now that has a very inconvenient schedule that truly limits how much time I can spend on this goofy shit. As a result, we've skipped and shifted a lot. For instance, this DVD Load-Down was started a couple weeks ago, but we JUST finished shooting it a few days back. So it's been a long time coming. I thought it was a pretty goofy one from the start, but unfortunately, I don't think it came together as well as I'd hoped, but that's due to my poor acting abilities. Maybe you can prove me wrong.

This week, we have a strange little flick called Chuck and Buck, written by and starring Mike White.

Take a look:

In case you missed it last week, because we had to postpone this shoot YET again, we put this little nifty video out to tide you guys over. It's the Comic Book Men panel from Florida Supercon.

Dropping Loads Episode 39: I Gotta Poop

Subscribe to us on iTunes HERE

Pouch here. We finally stepped out our game a little bit and invested in some fancy new mic stands. Surprisingly, they actually do help a lot with quality of the audio. Typically, I read the news on a lounge table with a desk mic. That usually means that I move away from the mic a lot unintentionally. This way, it's always near my mouth. Yeah, no need to tell me that she said that. Let's hope you hear the difference.

In this episode, Random Guy Serge returns to update us on a familiar incestuous idiot, while Pouch comes to the idiot's defense. Newly-hired Pouch comes to us from his place of work with tales of an obsessed, yet mysterious, caller and reveals the results of his investigation.

Dropping Loads Productions: Pure White

Pouch here. Last week, we scrambled for something to shoot and as a result we kinda rushed the writing of this here sketch that I'm about to present. We had some problems with the ending, especially considering our last DVD Load-Down featured a dream sequence as well. But here's our defense: The dream sequence in DVD Load-Down was parodying the movie.

Don't get me wrong, I love this sketch like I love the rest of them, but I just had a bit of a problem with it because I didn't want to insult you viewers with another dream sequence. Try as we might, we couldn't quite come up with another ending, but after having to skip out last week in favor of a pod, we couldn't really be too selective and finicky with what we shot. So we settled... Fuck settling. We shot additional footage for two possible endings.

For now, enjoy!

Pouch here. Happy Father's Day, folks. Though, this episode has NOTHING to do with Father's Day. We need to plan these a little better, because we always record mid-week and never remember what's going on the following Sunday when it goes up. While my machinery was out of action, Milky reclaimed his throne as rightful editor of the podcast. For the few of you who know our schedule, you may be wondering why we aren't releasing a sketch right about now. Guys, no excuses here. It was just incredibly poor planning. The simplest thing to do was to just record a podcast in place of it.

In this episode, Milky laments living among Floridians. Maria shares more stories of nudity from the photo department. Pouch refuses to believe that pregnant boys would deter unsafe sex. The guys discuss nap time and how Chewbacca is a douche.

Pouch here. So while we're slowly slowly coming off the high of our most ambitious release yet, HipsterWay, it's time to get back into the groove of things with another episode of your favorite podcast. This episode was a bit difficult to edit mostly because we had to scramble and find a different microphone to use and it really fucked with the audio. While we were doing our customary mic check at the beginning of the recording session, we discovered that one microphone wasn't responding at all, so we had to ask Jon to dash back home and grab his headphone set that unfortunately captured his breathing and chewing as well as my audio (as I was sitting next to him) muffling my track altogether. So please forgive us if it sounds more like shit than usual.
